Engaging Eyes

Struggling readers often make erratic eye movements when they read. This is part of the reason why reading is so difficult for these pupils. Engaging Eyes is a vision training program, which helps pupils track smoothly across the page.

Poor Eye Control

The red line shows where Abby was looking before she played Engaging Eyes.
This shows why she found reading so hard - her eyes were wobbling.

If a pupil can't focus both eyes on the same point, their brain will receive two different images.

For example, their left eye might focus on the first letter in the word and the right eye might wobble onto the last letter in a word. This can make the text look blurry, double or have a halo effect.

If a pupil reverses letters, skips words or lines or reads slowly; if they say the text moves; if they get eye strain or tired from reading; then playing Engaging Eyes should improve their reading and spelling.

Minimises Workload

The program takes 10 minutes, and should be played at least 3 times a week.

It can be played on any PC, laptop, Chromebook or iPad.

Free 3D glasses are included with your subscription.

How it Works

Target Practice Game

We send you 3D glasses needed to play these games.

In order for the targets to appear to come off the screen, you need to look through both the red and blue lenses equally. This makes you focus both eyes on the same point, and strengthens your eye muscles, which stops your eyes wobbling when you read.
